Another charm to banish sickness is to place a gold coin in a glass of red wine. Put this beneath the stars and waning moon for three nights, and each night drink one third of the wine to shrink your sickness until it's gone. This originated in rural Welsh regions, with some similar spells appearing in Scotland and England.
